One subject, one project
Stop explaining what you study in every new chat. A project remembers it for you.
If you use Claude for school, you know the drill: new chat, and you explain the subject, the material and the teacher all over again. Projects in Claude.ai fix this.
A project is a space where all chats share two things:
- Files you upload to the project, such as the syllabus, your notes or textbooks.
- Instructions that apply to every chat in the project.
How to set it up
- In Claude.ai, open Projects and create a new project. Name it after the subject.
- Upload the syllabus and your notes to the project knowledge. The more specific the materials, the better the answers.
- Write the project instructions. For example:
You help me with Macroeconomics in my first year at university.
The exam is oral, so explain things in a way I can repeat in my
own words. Stick to the terms from the syllabus in the files.
When I ask about a term, give me a short definition first
and then one real-world example.
Why it works
Inside the project, Claude knows what you are studying from and answers with the terms your teacher uses. It does not borrow definitions from other textbooks, and you do not have to repeat yourself.
Don’t delete the project at the end of the semester. You will want it before final exams.
